The complex of the "Roman Villa of Russi" represents an high and
significant
archaeological
discovering.
It is a country style villa of the roman age ( I
and II century A.C), linked
in ancient times to the port of Classe and
Ravenna, with remains of the
pre-roman age and burials of the VI and VII
century B.C.
Being its preservation so
extraordinary, the structure and the rich black
and white floor mosaics, represent one of the most important and
complete examples of
northern Italy.
Around the complex the "Wwf"
and "Legambiente" associations, have created a
sort of re-equilibrium of
the environment, very similar to the one of the
ancient age of the villa.
The visit of the archaeological complex includes a movie show and a walk
through the humid areas of
the wood.
